We know that learning to read and reading for pleasure transforms children’s lives.
Research shows that reading improves academic success in all subjects. It builds self-confidence, knowledge, imagination, creativity, a sense of belonging and an understanding of the world.
We are a skilled team of publishing, education, storytelling and marketing specialists who use our combined knowledge and expertise to deliver phonics training in schools, create children’s books and story events, to help authors and publishers reach new audiences, and impact reading and literacy excellence in schools, libraries and at home.

What people say about working with us
During her time with us Charlotte devised and delivered the English Curriculum, leading to a 10% rise in the number of trainees being graded as outstanding in this curriculum area and a 15% rise in the number of trainees who rated the training as good or better. Charlotte also supervises and marks masters level work for us, she has an excellent knowledge of research and a particular skill in interpretation that allows teachers to ensure their practice and pedagogic understanding is research-informed. Charlotte clearly has a good understanding of issues relating to diversity and inclusion and this is evident in both her dealings with trainees and the taught programme. Our trainees are clearly inspired by Charlotte’s work and she has had an incredibly positive impact on the training programme as a whole. Charlotte has a broad skill set and I recommend her to you without reserve.
Jo Palmer-Tweed,Executive Director, Essex and Thames Primary SCITT
Charlotte is an inspiring and motivating trainer who has a vast depth of subject knowledge, which she disseminates in staff meetings and INSET’s. She delivers her training with empathy and understanding of the pressures teachers face with the challenges of the new English curriculum. Through the Teaching Alliance she has supported schools in difficult circumstances and working closely with school leaders to support identified issues in the teaching of English. Feedback from other schools and delegates attending her training sessions has always been extremely positive and has had positive impact on improving the quality of teaching and learning.

Emily ran sensory story/book sharing sessions for BookTrust to help launch our Booktime programme for Year R...The sessions were very well prepared and crafted ensuring that all the children were engaged and felt comfortable. Her use of props to create the sensory feelings of rain and wind etc amazed the children and they were all keen to join in the craft activities which were ready prepared and quick and easy for staff to set up and use with the children. Emily reads a room very well and is skilled at quickly assessing how to draw the children into the stories and she ensured that any children needing special support were able to engage in the activities and fully participate in the sessions. Her energy levels are very high and her enthusiasm draws the children into the world she creates from the stories. At the end of the sessions the children were buzzing with excitement and eager to share the stories with each other and staff. I am also pleased to say that most of the teaching staff at the sessions were also buzzing and appeared to enjoy it as much as the children!
I was quite daunted by the idea of visiting schools as an author, but Charlotte helped me to develop and hone my workshop ideas to make sure they would be fun and engaging for the children, curriculum-friendly and with clear outcomes for teachers. Thanks to years of experience as a teacher, trainer and author, Charlotte knew exactly what would work well for my workshops in terms of content. She was also able to advise me about what it's really like in a school and the huge variables to be aware of when facing a class full of children. Charlotte really knows her stuff but she's also patient and kind with a light, humorous touch. I would highly recommend her.

Kelly has been working with me since last summer building brand awareness on Twitter and Facebook for my existing titles running up to the launch of a new series in January. She listened carefully to my goals, gave sensible advice and set out a clear strategy at the outset, working closely with the publishers to offer strategic promotions and educational material online. Since then she has run both accounts actively and professionally, engaging with key influencers including schools, libraries and bloggers and posting regularly on relevant topics and events. She also gives regular feedback which helps to shape strategy going forward. I have great confidence in her to run the social media and marketing side of things - something that I really needed help with - and recommend her very highly.

Kelly has spent much of her career focused on marketing in the adult market, working with authors as diverse as Stephen King, Jodi Picoult, Jeffery Deaver, John Connolly, Philippa Gregory, Sir Michael Parkinson and Russell Brand in her previous roles. Now a mother of two boys who devour books (the 2 year old quite literally) she has fallen in love with the children’s market, spends more than she can afford on children’s books and is spurred on to use her powers and skills for the forces of good and to work to get more books into the hands of children.
In particular Kelly loves helping authors and publishers with their social media and marketing and is currently supporting well-loved children’s authors with their social media activity.
This summer Kelly is celebrating #BlytonDays and all the many wonderful things about the world’s best-loved storyteller, Enid Blyton, across her social media channels. Read more
